SIGPLAN-M Lunch
The SIGPLAN Long-Term Mentoring Committee (SIGPLAN-M) organizes an international long-term mentoring program for programming languages researchers. The SIGPLAN-M Mentoring lunch will be held Wednesday, June 17, with the goal of connecting mentors and mentees for help navigating the Job Market, Junior Faculty, and beyond. The goal of the program is for junior and senior researchers to form long-term connections in the programming languages community, and to access the perspectives of researchers from other institutions. Lunch will be served at 12:40pm in Flatirons-1.
Women@PLDI Dinner
The Women@PLDI dinner will be held on Wednesday, June 17 with the goal of creating a women-centered space, building relationships, and informal networking. A panel will be held for experienced members of the community to share their perspective. Dinner will be held at the Centro Mexican Kitchen (950 Pearl St) at 9:30pm. Any PLDI attendee who identifies as a woman, or who finds fellowship in women-centered events, is welcome. This explicitly includes nonbinary, transmasc, agender/gender-questioning individuals, and trans individuals of all stripes who find fellowship in women-centered events, including students, post-docs, faculty, and industry professionals.
LGBTQ@PLDI Lunch
The LGBTQ@PLDI lunch will be held on Thursday, June 18 with the goal of bringing together members of the LGBTQ+ community and provide opportunities for networking and community building. Lunch will be served at 12:40pm in Ajax Tavern, the hotel restaurant. Anyone who identifies as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community at POPL is welcome, including students, post-docs, faculty, and industry professionals. URM@PLDI lunch
The URM@PLDI lunch will be held on Friday, June 19 with the goal of bringing together all who are under-represented within the SIGPLAN community. Lunch will be served at 12:40pm in Ajax Tavern, the hotel restaurant. This lunch is explicitly intended to be a “big tent” event, and is open to all who are under-represented in the community, with a special emphasis on those who are not already served by a dedicated PLDI DEI event.
